The cabinet frequently needs repainting. Epoxy appliance paint works best. Prepare the cabinet for paint by sanding out all scratches and rusted areas. Clean with a solvent like Toluene or lacquer thinner, preferably outside or in a well ventilated room. Make the surface to be painted horizontal by loading up the appliance on a dolly and laying it down with the surface to be painted on top. Spray the surface evenly and let it dry enough not to run and then place the appliance in the upright position to dry.
