The rinse function removes residual detergent from your clothes. Detergent is worked into the clothes during the wash function. The remainder of the cycle is spent in getting the dirty wash water and detergent out of the clothes. The washer may spin and drain, fill, agitate, drain, spin and spray and finally, spin. The rinse temperature is usually cold but is determined by the lower selection on the water temperature control. The washer may use all funcions to remove the detergent but the method and sequence are determined by the timer. Some washer cycles have two rinse periods to insure that the detergent is removed from the clothes before the last spin function.
